The "Irish" Capt. Sean Martin, co-founder of North CountrySean Martin, captain of the 53ft "Irish" has been fishing out of Homer since 1978. A long-time Homer resident and owner/operator of North Country Charters he has the experience and knowledge to give you a complete and successful Alaskan fishing trip. Sean is familiar with the birds and wildlife in the area and has a great desire to share them with his customers. Kids are always welcome onboard the Irish, ask for our kids rate.

The “Irish” carries a maximum of 16 fishermen (more if all one party) and is also available for groups up to 22 passengers for sightseeing, weddings, school groups, nature tours, oil industry and other transportation services. The "Pacific Sun" Smilin' JoeJoe Svymbersky, captain of the "Pacific Sun", a long-time local commercial fisherman/charter operator has been an owner/operator with North Country Charters since 1992. He has one of those personalities that make you comfortable even when you have no experience. Along with halibut fishing Joe offers salmon fishing or a combo during certain times of the season. Happy with the re-power on his 28ft. GlasPly, Joe is racing to the fishing grounds with the fastest boats.
The "Obsession"Capt. Richard BaltzerRichard Baltzer, captain of the “Obsession” owns and operates his 30 ft. Chris Craft. Richard specializes in our saltwater salmon fishery, providing excellent trolling for kings, reds, pinks and silver salmon depending on the season. He is available for combos and halibut fishing.

Coastal PredatorCapt. Glain CookGlain Cook, captain of the 35ft. Coastal Predator, a 35ft Pelican Bay has joined North Country to provide an alternative to day trips.  He just completed a rebuild, top to bottom, making this a long range fishing and hunting vessel keeping safety and comfort in mind.  He has years of experience just in our Homer area alone, with the last 4 years leading the fleet in long range trips.  Now he is able to proudly do this from the comfort of his own boat.

Ben Martin, having grown up in the family business is now a licensed captain running charters for his second season.  He is operating the “Fringe Benefit”, a 28ft GlasPly with the latest electronics and life raft.  Ben loves to fish for the unusual.  Halibut is our staple, but when in season he is interested it doing more of the Multi-species trips where you have a chance to catch lingcod, rockfish and silvers too.

A truckload of good eatin' Gerri turns chaos into harmony!And let's not forget the tireless ground crew who pick up where the captains leave off, hauling your lunkers up to the office, weighing them, taking pictures, and filleting them as you relax with a hot cup of coffee or a well deserved ice cold beer at the "Salty Dawg" across the street.
